Staff Analysis of the Legislation

HB 127 allows those with an amateur radio station license from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to get a special design license plate with their radio station call letters inscribed. The State will provide the sheriff of each county a list of the license plate letters of each person receiving one of these special license plates. It would be the duty of the sheriff to maintain and keep current the lists for public information and inquiry. This bill would also exempt these particular tags from the fees assigned to other special tags.
